Trauma-Informed Healing and Recovery

My Approach

How I work with clients is born from many years of research and training as well as first-hand personal experience--and, subsequently, my own path to healing.

My approach is “bottom up,” which means prioritizing the body, the nervous system, and the emotions—and addressing trauma where it “lives” rather than talking about it.

I take a systems approach to healing. Much like a homeopath or functional medical doctor, I look at layers in the person’s history, ancestry, and how they came into this world. Often these pieces are overlooked; yet, I have often found they can hold the key to unlock our healing.

I look at the whole-person—how they interact with the world and those around them, how they connect with others, and what, if any, access they have to feel safe and at home in themselves.

We look at what brings about a sense of peace and makes them feel most alive. Sometimes we look at this through art, story, and somatic work.

We consider trauma history (shock, developmental, medical, relational, inter-generational) which, in all of my research, training, and personal experience, has proven to be a root cause for mystery symptoms, behavioral issues, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and relationship struggles.

For you, that can mean less running from practitioner to practitioner, less research, unanswered questions, searching, and overwhelm—and more time, energy, financial resources, and the possibility of real healing; not to mention getting your life back.

My approach is multi-dimensional—and integrative. I have arrived at paths to healing based on scientific principles, evidence-based modalities, and cutting-edge theories—like the polyvagal theory—and applications of those theories in clinical work (Deb Dana, for instance) as well as the field of energy medicine, parts work, and evidenced-based modalities like Somatic Experiencing, Transforming Touch, and the Safe and Sound Protocol.

Together, we create an environment of safety, connection, and the conditions necessary for the body to heal.

My Philosophy

I believe we all have the ability to heal.

While I might have gone the long way at times, I have distilled what I believe helps most people most of the time. Backed with my training, I’ve now seen this work help others in ways I never thought possible.

I work with concepts like co-regulation, self-regulation, capacity, resilience, safety, and relationship. And we work with awareness, tracking, sensation, gesture, emotion and creating relationship to all parts of ourselves.

By accessing the tools and conditions—even if they are not always present—we can create a space to heal.

My Practice

While I believe in co-regulation and hands-on touch in the work I do, I’ve been working remotely since the pandemic and continue to. I’ve cultivated the ability to provide this work from the comfort of your own space without the hassle of travel and pandemic restrictions.

All of my work—whether it is the Safe and Sound protocol, Transforming Touch, Somatic Experiencing, or wellness coaching—has translated beautifully. And it’s added more flexibility and nuance along with
